Have something happening around Greater Sacramento?
Tell us about it.
Sac News helps locals find things to do across Greater Sacramento — from concerts and food festivals to markets, fundraisers, workshops, community gatherings, sports events, outdoor activities, arts events, open houses, and the kind of neighborhood happenings people usually hear about three days too late.
If you’re hosting an event that’s open to the public, we’d love to know about it.
Submitting an event is free.
What kinds of events can be submitted?
We welcome event submissions from anyone — businesses, nonprofits, venues, community groups, schools, creators, organizers, and local residents.
Good fits include:
Live music and performances
Food and drink events
Arts and culture events
Family-friendly activities
Sports and fitness events
Community gatherings
Civic and educational events
Outdoor activities
Markets and pop-ups
Fundraisers
Workshops and classes
Open houses
Recurring events, like weekly trivia, monthly markets, or ongoing community meetups
If people in Greater Sacramento can attend it, enjoy it, learn from it, support it, or bring their cousin who “never knows what to do this weekend,” it may be a fit for Sac News.
What we don’t list
To keep the calendar useful and community-focused, we may decline events that are not a good fit for Sac News.
That includes:
Private parties or invite-only gatherings
Events outside the Greater Sacramento region
Political rallies or highly partisan campaign events
Adult-only or explicit content
MLM, get-rich-quick, or low-quality sales events
Low-effort webinars not meaningfully connected to the local community
Events that feel misleading, unsafe, spammy, or not relevant to local readers
Our goal is simple: help people find quality things to do around Sacramento and the surrounding communities.
Before you submit
Please include as much helpful information as possible so we can understand the event quickly.
Useful details include the event name, date, time, location, city or neighborhood, price, event description, organizer name, and a link where people can learn more or get tickets.
Recurring event? No problem. Just include the schedule and any details people need to know.
How submissions work
Submitting an event does not guarantee publication.
Every community event submission is reviewed before it goes live on Sac News. We do this to keep the calendar clean, accurate, and genuinely useful for locals.
If your event is a good fit, we’ll add it to the site.
