Summer Camp: Intro to Comics

If you enjoy drawing characters and want to learn how to turn those sketches into a comic or manga, this workshop is for you. Whether you are a beginner or looking to refine your process, you will learn how to build a two-page short story using either your own original characters or existing ones.

Visual artist and creator Matt Roper leads the session, sharing his experience in independent comics, illustration, and 2D animation. You will explore the fundamentals of comic production, including:

• Story development
• Character design
• Page layouts
• Inking techniques

All necessary materials are provided for the workshop. You will leave with the foundational skills needed to start creating your own comic pages.
