Sacramento’s vibrant Brazilian community will come together on Saturday, July 18, for the Brazilian Carnaval & Festival, celebrating the 25th anniversary of Samba da Terra, one of Northern California’s longest-running Brazilian cultural organizations. Taking place from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the CLARA Auditorium (1425 24th Street, Sacramento), the festival promises an evening filled with the music, dance, and traditions of Brazil for guests of all ages.
Founded by Marta Santos, Samba da Terra has spent the past quarter century introducing thousands of Northern Californians to Brazilian culture through samba dance, live performances, educational programs, and community events. “This celebration is about much more than dance,” says Santos.
“It’s about bringing people together through joy, music, movement, and cultural connection. For 25 years we’ve been building community, and we’re excited to celebrate that journey with everyone.” Festival highlights include: Live Brazilian bands Authentic samba performances Capoeira demonstrations Community drum circle Family-friendly activities Brazilian food and beverages available for purchase Whether guests have experienced Carnaval in Brazil or are discovering Brazilian culture for the first time, the event offers an immersive evening of color, rhythm, and celebration.
